Hybrid charging control for wind and solar systems
The IstaBreeze® I/HCC-P Hybrid Charge Controller is the central control and protection unit for combined wind and solar systems. It monitors the battery, controls the energy from the wind turbine, and can also process up to 600 W of solar power. This allows wind and solar energy to be combined in a single battery system.
The controller is available for 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems and supports – depending on the version – wind turbines up to 800W, 1000W or 2000W. Integrated functions include battery protection, overspeed protection, smooth turbine braking, manual braking, short-circuit protection and reverse polarity protection.
The integrated display allows monitoring of important operating values such as battery voltage, input voltage, solar panel voltage, temperature, turbine speed and charging current.
Ideal for: Off-grid wind energy systems, combined wind and solar power plants, and 12V, 24V and 48V battery banks.

Detailed technical information on the I/HCC-P hybrid charge controller – including system voltage, maximum wind turbine input power, maximum solar power, charging start and cut-off, maximum charging current, permissible turbine speed, protection functions, recommended cable cross-sections and battery requirements – can be found in the respective operating instructions.
Please always select the appropriate version according to the battery voltage (12V, 24V or 48V) and the power output of the connected wind turbine. Different voltage variants must not be combined.
The IstaBreeze® I/HCC-P 800W – 12V/24V hybrid charge controller is suitable for lead-acid, GEL and AGM batteries and can be used with the following wind turbines: IstaBreeze® I-500, 450 Plus, Air Speed 500, L-500 and I-700.
For operation with lithium batteries, the charge controller can be pre-configured according to your battery's specifications upon request. Alternatively, we can leave the settings blank so that you can configure them yourself after receiving the unit.
Especially important for 500W wind turbines:
If the I-500, 450 Plus, Air Speed 500 or L-500 is to be operated with a lithium battery, the I/HCC-P 800W – 12V/24V hybrid charge controller is the intended charge controller.
If the I-1000 is to be operated with a lithium battery, the I/HCC-P 1000W – 24V hybrid charge controller or the I/HCC-P 1000W – 48V hybrid charge controller can be used, depending on the system voltage, and configured according to the technical specifications of your lithium battery.
